MODE Email content stays in Outlook.
MODE is designed to add structure to email without turning DraftMode into an email-processing service.
MODE reads and changes the subject of the message you are composing and may attach a small structured MODE header. On received messages, MODE can read that header, the subject, and limited To/Cc recipient metadata so it can determine whether a MODE instruction applies to you. MODE does not request the email body or attachments, and message body or attachment content is not sent to DraftMode.
MODE Internal
Organizations that do not allow externally hosted add-ins can run the MODE Internal Edition from their own approved HTTPS server. In that profile, DraftMode/Netlify licensing calls are disabled. The Outlook add-in still needs the Microsoft Office JavaScript runtime from an endpoint allowed by the organization.
License data
When commercial licensing is enabled, MODE may send your Outlook account email address and an activation token to DraftMode's license endpoint to confirm that your MODE subscription is valid. Company licenses also use the licensed company domain and stated employee count.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. DraftMode does not receive or store your full payment-card details. Stripe may process billing information under its own privacy terms.
Impact Points
If you choose Impact Points activation, MODE sends the redemption proof and email address to the configured LightImpact verification service. No points are deducted unless that verification service approves the redemption.
Local settings
Custom MODE categories, your activation token, and some personal add-in settings are stored locally by the Outlook/browser environment. A recipient's personal Done state is stored as an Outlook add-in property on that recipient's message and does not notify the sender.
